I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for network diagram software? I have located "Network Notepad" but find the included icons to be very limited.

Thanks all!

Another option is Boson Netsim---you can build your network with Cisco devices, list the IP addresses and nodenames, and print it out. Let me know if you need a copy---I'll throw it on FTP...

Yeah, I would like to check it out! Thanks.

ftp://2621xm.gotdns.com

There's also a few other things---the GI Joe vids are hilarious! There's also the Cisco Academy CCNA semester 4 lab book, and I've included our semester 4 project---really good practice! If you don't already have WinRAR, download it from my ftp and install it! Let me know when you're done so I can turn it off again.

By the way, all the configs and IP addressing are in there too---don't cheat!lol

maczen,

I use Visio, I have to do lots of classroom design for best arrangement of desks and whiteboards in my area and I always use Visio since you can drop desks and chairs in place and get a scale look for the room with stuff in it.

Has a great network section with ability to do logicals or an actual rack layout. Visio is a great tool!!

I was also able to get Cisco Network Designer about 9 years ago - it is dated now but it let you add Cisco devices and it knew what interfaces they had and it actually built a configuration as you designed the network (With IP addresses and all). I have not looked to see if it is still out there - might find one on ebay!

If you get Visio, do a gogle on Cisco Visio shapes and you can go to Cisco to get a bunch of shapes that Cisco uses for Visio as well as Power Point or other Microsoft programs such as Word.

Here is the link -

Here are all the shapes in different formats -

Of course not... I would never even cosider it.. LoL

Have you downloaded what you need yet? I don't like to keep the ftp up, because of 13 year old zit-faced Russian kids trying to dictionary attack my 38 character password...lol
I tried with l0phtcr4ck, and it said it would take 76,890 years to crack! Muahahahahaha...the losers trying to crack it eats my bandwidth though...I look at the logs, and either call their ISP (look their IP up on dnsstuff.com) and tell them they are trying to send me child porn, or I put in an acl to block them. Right now, I have China and Korea blocked---the entire country!lol

Would anyone happen to have a decent copy of Visio they could share???

Burt

Burt, you know it's a licensed software. but *cough cough*, I might be able to hook you up.

Of course...thanks. Let me know..cough cough...
