I have a Windows 2000 server with 5 workstations through out the building with network printers and backup devices. Within this network, there is a linksys router and linksys switch. The clients have Windows XP on them and after some time when they try to access the server to retrieve Word Documents it will take up to 7-10 seconds to open and if I shut off the router/switch and turn them back on, all is fine for 2-4 days and then it happens again. The two devices have been replaced but it seems strange that even when they were replaced that rebooting them will speed up the network. Does anyone have any ideas on this issue.
