I have a database (Access 2000) that is on a network in G: with users accessing the data using shortcuts that take them directly to the forms that they need. (I know this isnt the best security, but it works pretty good and is about all I can manage at my level).
Anyway, the problem I am having is that even though the DB is setup on the server as "sharable" (Novel), sometimes this gets changed and only one person can get in at a time. Unless there is a sabotur, it appears this is being caused by something other than an intential modification.
This is the second version of this database I have installed and the 1st one works great in this configuration. From everything I can tell, the network properties for all the users are identical, but something keeps unsharing this DB and shutting out more than one user.
Any ideas? Would splitting this into a FE/BE setup help in eliminating this problem?
Thanks......
