Hi,

After rebooting one node of a cluster (windows Advanced Server 2000 SP4), the network connections folder
is empty even though an ipconfig /all returns correct information about the adapters
Numerous services won't start anymore: Network Connections, Remote Access Connection manager, cluster service, Automatic updates.

I'm using NIC teaming.

Errors in the system log: (every minute)

The Remote Access Connection Manager service failed to start due to
the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a
timely fashion.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Remote Access Connection
Manager service to connect.

Errors in the application log:

The Open Procedure for service "RemoteAccess" in DLL
"C:\WINNT\System32\rasctrs.dll" failed. Performance data for this
service will not be available. Status code returned is data DWORD 0.

The description for Event ID ( 2001 ) in Source ( rasctrs ) cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. The following information is part of the event: The event
log file is corrupt..

The cluster used to work fine until a reboot following the
installation of hotfixes that I uninstalled one by one to see if they
weren't the cause of the problem. Nope !

Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Eric.
