I am so fed up I could spit peas!

I am receiving the following error:
Blah! Blah! Blah! Error accessing file. Network Connection may have been lost.

I tried all of the resolutions I found in our knowledgeable base, save one. I did not copy the code to a text file and move the form to a new database. I have re-created this database 5 times trying to get it right. The last two were an attempt to address this problem because I read that this problem occurs when you import forms into an Access database that is already linked to SQL Server.

Is there another way to introduce data into SQL Server that would alleviate this problem? I have over 70 forms and 100+ tables I would like to get up and running via SQL Server(some time this century. Taking each form and making the code behind it a text file, copying it to another dbase and the re-inserting the code is not an attractive alternative.

It seems to me that if Bill wants Users to upgrade to his new EXPENSIVE products he should make the conversion a whole lot easier and smoother. Sorry I just needed to VENT!

Any suggestions?
Thanks much, Trudye

Not sure if its your problem, but I had a similar error after applying the lastest Windows patches. Eventually fixed the problem by re-installing the SQL service pack. Worth a try.

I thought it was just me but everytime I install a patch from MS I have problems. I installed a patch for Office 200 and had to un-install and re-install it.

The only patch I have installed for SQL Server is Service Pack 3a which everyone told me is mandatory.

Thanks for responding

I think I may have solved my problem. Well this one anyway, I am sure there will be more along the way.

I copied the original Access 2k DB to a new location, deleted the linked tables ( tables were previously linked to a separate Access 2k Data DB which only held data).

Linked to my SQL Server DB that now holds my tables/data. I was then able to open forms, view modules/code, and add components none of which I had been able to do before.

I still have a lot of work to do. All the tables have a dbo prefix, which naturally my forms do not recognize. I will have to rename them. Also some tables did not convert mostly time stamp/date conversions problems. Not sure how I'm going to rectify this problem. But it should be interesting. Never a dull moment with MS.

Thanks much,
Trudye
