Hi all, I installed 2 NIC cards on the same PC with Win2K server, all drivers worked fine and can ping with each other on the adaptor and can access to the network, the 1st time the icons of the connection appeared and allowed you to go to the propeerty to configure the static IP. So it asked to reboot in order to make changes to be effect. After the booting, I clicked the network neighbour hood icon and Network Connection icons of the 2 adaptor disappeared. Or right click on the network neighbor hood/property it doesnot open to display the configuration of the adaptors. I need to access to this so that I can configure the IP on the adaptor cards. Also I went to services to turn on the Network connection but it didnot turn on as well. the messages said you cannot turn on the N/W on locally machine. Can any one please help? thks in advance. check event viewer/device manager/msinfo32.exe for conflicts.
might be a ip/irq problem somewhere.
what does ipconfig /all report?

Have you tried taking the second card out and putting it in a different CPI slot?

Thanskk for the response, I tried on another slot but no luck. So I installed the 3rd card in and accidentally I found the problem. If I disconnect all the LAN cables, all 3 properties of the cards display and allow you to change the IP address . I tested it again this time connect all cables on the hub again the PC didnot show icons on the system tray, so I thought maybe it's designed not to show since you have 3 N/W cards or 3 connections on the LAN to avoid people accidental modify or turn off the card. Now they are all working fine and the thing is if you want to change the IP then you 'd have to disconnect the cable and reboot the PC again .
