Can anyone give me any advice on how to find network congestions on a network with 12 3com switches, and one netscreen router/firewall? I am lost on how to start troubleshooting network slowness. PLEASE HELP>

let me put it this way... if you truely want to do it right you need to do the simple addition of 1 + 1... meaning... start out with 1 computer w/ switch and internet then add a server then add another computer or switch etc.

Odds are it is in the firewall. Make sure that it is allow access from each computer. Also if you have a computer soft-wall then make sure it's allowing access to the network and I usually set "allow all" to ips that I have manually assigned to they can talk freely without filters.

But If you had a saturday unplug all but like a computer and server without firewall and make sure it is fast before you bother going into it.

My network bogged down because I had DNS through a router... I setup manual ips on each system and it sped it up.
