I inherited an SCO 5.0.5Eb server a while ago, but I'm still kind of green with Unix issues, so this error has me stumped so far:
I tried to change the IP address for the server's Intel Pro 100B NIC using the SCO sysadmin GUI. However, when I submitted the change I received the message "Device Table Overflow 1024", then a message that the change was completed successfully. Being optimistic, I attempted a re-link of the kernel despite the error and, as you can guess, it failed. The error was "Master Table Overflow".
I've been doing massive research in the last couple of days, but not much luck so far. I believe the error is related to the TCP connections and TTY settings of the network, rather than the actual card settings or IP address. While poking around, I discovered that the system complained of "Master pseudo tty driver not in mdevice file". I believe this may be a big part of my problem but I can't figure out what to do about it so far.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
