I have a new server with a 10/100Mbps Network card. At a Hardware level I believe it is running at 100Mb (The switch has the 100Mb led lit on this port)

However I feel the performance is very slow in comparison to other cards on separate servers which leads me to believe at o/s level it is only running 10Mbps or less.

What can I check at o/s level to see what it's configured for. Smit doesn't seem to have anything relating to card speed.

Regards,
Mike.

Hi
with the "entstat" you see the Speed of the Ethernet devices.(manpage)

The lsattr command shows you the Attributes.
lsattr -El ent0
speed: 100 half, Auto neogation.

In "smitty devices" -Communications -Ethenet you can change the Speed. I newer use Auto.

I hope it works

May be your card/driver/ip/tcp queues are very small. Try looking for failures on [tt]netstat -m[/tt]
I hope it works...
