Anyone know what files control the network card settings? Specifically media speed?

Ever since I used smitty to change it to 100Full duplex, it constantly reboots.

I've gone into maintenance mode but when I try to issue the command to change it back to auto-negotiate it come back with an error: Unable to unload kernel ....

thx

The information would be contained in the ODM. Why not remove the card and see if it resolves your problem? Are you sure you have the correct microcode for the adapger? It seems from what you said that it was running fine under 10 or auto-neg.? Are you plugging into a switch or router? Have you checked the switch/router for possible problems?

Just questions to ask/answer.

Can't remove the card becuase it never gets into the OS.
At maintenance mode it won't let me remove the device. It gives me the same error: Error unloading kernel extensions.
It was running perfectly fine at AUTO. I tried disconnecting from the network but it just gave me the same results.

thx

No, I mean pull the adapter out of the system completely so it won't be detected on boot, you will have a diagnostics err saying that it can't find a previously defined resource but who cares at this point. Then when the system is back up you can remove the drivers for the adapter and all related information that exists for it and then make sure you have the correct drivers and microcode and reinstall it and go from there.

That was my last resort but I guess at this point I might as well go with it.

THX.
