Hello,
My 2003 member server is having trouble finding the browser master on the network. The event log reports that there maybe a loss of network connectivity, but there has not.
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BROWSER
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8021
Date: 24/03/2004
Time: 09:39:20
User: N/A
Computer: SERVER1
Description:
The browser service was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the browser master \\SERVER2 on the network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{AB1284EF-BCCB-4101-80EF-2FF9F45F89C2}.
Browser master: \\SERVER2
Network: \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{AB1284EF-BCCB-4101-80EF-2FF9F45F89C2}
This event may be caused by a temporary loss of network connectivity. If this message appears again, verify that the server is still connected to the network. The return code is in the Data text box.
I posted a thread very similar recently, and was advised that it maybe because I had 3 network cards bridged, this may be the cause. I have un-bridged the network cards and only have one cable from the server into the switch. And only one of the network connections is enabled.
I have also noticed that browsing the network takes longer than expected, all DNS and IP configuration is setup correctly.
It got me baffled. Any advice anyone?
Thanks
