I have multiple BCM50 2.0's talking to each other via sip trunks. I am using universal dial plan with four digits. This works great but we recently added a 3.0 version with sip trunk licensing. I am using almost all of the same settings on the 3.0 as will allow but have been unsuccessful in getting 2.0 to talk 3.0 with sip trunks. I have spoken some other tech friends and they say that it is a known issue that Nortel is working to correct. Has anyone heard of this or does anyone have any ideas what I could be missing?

I work with this stuff on a daily basis and I've neither heard nor read anything regarding SIP integration issues between BCM's of any version.

BCM50 rls 3.0 does have different configuration options than the previous two releases.

Post your VoIP configuration if you can.

I have the same issue wasnotwas. I'm adding a 3.0 to an existing network and can't for the life of me get it to work. SIP trunking in the new 3.0 is very different from previous releases. In the older versions, all you had to do to use sip was to change the voip protocol from H.323 to SIP and everything worked fine. Now, I think the 3.0 was further developed to allow non Nortel systems to communicate with Nortel systems on the same network using SIP, but that requires a whole different configuration. We're getting into gateways, proxy servers, SIP providers and all sorts of things.

If anyone knows how to get two 50's talking to one another, I too would be interested in knowing how to do it.
