Hi all,

I'm trying to make a backup " fbackup -f machine:device -0 -v -i / " across the network, and it fails.

The output:
fbackup(3301): could not open output file machine:device
fbackup(3019): would you like to enter a new output file?

I edit the .rhosts file and put the machine i want to backup.

What can i do?
Can you help?

Thanks in advance,
Kings

Hi

log into your first sstem and they rlogin over to the second system. Issue an #who -r to check how the second system say the first system being resolved

Check the .rhosts has the following correct entry

first_system_resolved_name username probably something of the form
hostname.domain.com username #comment if wanted

Check the hosts.equiv has the following correct entryas in the .rhosts file

hostname.domain.com username #comment

Verify that local system can rlogin or remsh to remote system(the one with the backup device) without remote system prompting for a password.

rlogin -l username systemB

If it doesn't prompt you for a password then you should be OK.

Hi

Sorry, typo in previous reply, i meant

#who -u

Cheers
Queenie
