I'm running out of ideas, and so figured stepping back, and looking at the entire picture might solve my problem

My network is 6 servers, 4 with Tape drives. All run Win2k SP1: Servers 1-4 have tape drives, and an installed copy of Backup Exec 8.5 Server Edition, as well as the Open Files Option.

Servers One and Two are no problem: One is a Domain Controller, Active Directory, and File Server, and backs
up just fine.

Two is an Exchange 2000 Box: the Exchange Agent is installed, and works fine

Servers Three through Six are SQL 2000 boxes, and that's where my problems are.

Three and Four have tape drives, BE 8.5 and OFO, as well as the SQL Agent, upgraded to backup SQL 2000. On local backups, they work fine...

Three also attempts to back up Five.

Five has two Named Instances of SQL 2000, The first backs up just fine, the second won't back up at all: I'm making do with backing up as many files as I can in it's directory.
Remote Agent/Accellerator is installed

Four is attempting to back up Six. I can't back a single thing on Six. Likewise, Remote Agent/Accellerator is on...

Any idea what I'm doing wrong ????

It sounds like your passwords may be a problem. Did you create a single account to backup all servers? I am pretty sure there also needs to be an account on Exchange and the SQL database to access their databases exclusively using the agent accelerator. If there are password differences then a backup will not happen. Worth a look at...
