Hello
I have a Win2K server (SP4) configured w/2 NICs. We have an intermittent problem where we are unable to access the Local Area Connection under the 'Network & Dialup Connections' applet (I am using an admin account to do this). Either there are no icons for any of the NICs installed, or I can see the Local Area Connections. However when attempting to view the Properties of any of the connections, the screen blanks out and returns back to the 'Network & Dialup Connections' applet. When I check the Application Event log, I see the following event entry (corresponding to the time I get the error)
Source: Winlogon
Event ID 1002
Description:
The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.
The only method we have to temporarily fix this is to reboot the server. This has become less of a viable option as it is happening on a more regular basis. Does anyone have any experience with this issue or have any suggestions on how to address this?
Thanks,
gerry
