I work in a School Dist. We have approx. 80%macintosh 20%pc. I do have sniffer pro, 3com network supervisor, intermapper. I need an all in 1 program to map the network, gain info to users ipaddress, mac address, dns name, where the user is connected, etc.. This needs to be able to resolve PC and Macintosh(OSX) computers. The biggest part of my problem is bandwidth useage. I need to be able to monitor (Realtime) how much bandwidth individual computers are using. (Remember I work in a School Dist where the students move from class to class on a schedule. The closest to this fairyland program would be 3Com Network Supervisor. OH yeah, We use DHCP for about 99% so it would have to be able to update a user with the new address. Thanks. Don't all answer at once.

We use Solarwinds Orion, check out the live demo here: it is web based and you can view individual systems, routers, switches..etc...pretty much anything that is snmp enabled. The snmp part could be a downside for you...but then again maybe not. It has tons of flexability and alert capabilities as well.
