Hi all,

A user in a different state has XP Home edition - they are sharing a cable connection with about 2 other compuers (win98). Up to yesterday afternoon she could access the net no problem.

Today same problem. The network card shows up in Device manager with no errors (actually 2 show up) however in network connections they do not show up.

Trying to do a add connection wizard produced nothing.

Any ideas?

Thank you "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"

If there is only 1 network card in the machine, I would start by uninstalling both listings in device manager. You may want to do this in safe mode (with not networking). Then restart and windows should find & install the network card correctly.

That seemed to do it - it reinstalled both again.

But it works.

Many thanks. "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"
