We have a main office and a remote office, both running 2003 Server SBS and connected via a VPN between our ADSL routers.

The server or any W2K PC in our remote office can see the main office network, either by searching for a computer or by using My Network Places.

However, no XP PC can, although they all have the latest updates etc.

Can anyone suggest where the problem is and how to get round it?

Many thanks.

Windows Firewall? Can the XP machines ping the remote by ip address?

Burt

Thanks for the reply. Windows firewall is on (but it is greyed out on the XP PCs as it is handled by group policy on SBS) and yes, you can ping IP addresses in either direction.

You would be best to shut down windows firewall I have seen more issue than I count. If shutting it down works than that was the fix. Other possible issue would be DNS.
