I have installed netware client 3.3 on a machine running windows95 to log in to a netware 5.0 server (sp6). This was previously using the microsoft client but I decided to change it to make it the same as all our other clients.

All went well in the installation but now the login dialog just wont appear when starting up or selecting 'Netware Login' from the Netware services icon. I have re-installed 3 times and even 'downgraded' to version 3.2 but still not luck. The hourglass appears for a second or two and it looks like the PC is thinking but nothing happens. All of the other utilities work e.g. mapping, messaging etc but I still cant log on !

I have tried some suggestions from Novells knowledgebase but nothing worked.

Can anyone else help ??

Thanks in advance,
Nick A

IT might be obvious, however, have you removed the MS client and what is the primary login?

VERY IMPORTANT RULE - If the NetWare client dialog box is not displayed during startup it means that the client can't SEE the tree and/or server!

To fix this you need to change the client configuration at the workstation. The most usual cause of failure is wrong protocol, i.e. server is using 802.3 and client is set for 802.2. Joshua Rothschild
