A dedicated Netware restore server was moved to another subnet and ever since I am unable to do any restores.

I am trying to do a directive restore and I am doing the following:

legato server=lgsvr
legato netware client=nwclient
legagto dedicated restore client= restore1

Run networkr.nlm on restore1 console
select legato server lgsvr
select directive restore
choose nwclient index
choose destination restore1
then prompted for username and password on restore1

every password I try comes up with access denied.

I have tried to login to the restore1 with the same usename and password and all is ok. So I have verified the username and password are ok from the Netware end.

The things that have changed are the restore1 ip address

I am using
Legato 6.1.2 on HPUX 11.00 server
4.15 on nwclient
4.21 on restore1

thanks in advance

Be sure to add restore1 to client1's remote access list in Networker.

restore1 is added to the client index and as an administrator on lgsvr (which has changed from 5.5.3 to 6.1.2)

5.5.3 you didn't need to be an administrator to do a restore.
6.1.2 you need to add each client that will be doing directive restores to the administrator list.

I did a trace and it looks like the restore1 is talking to the nsrstat rpc process. Anybody know what this rpc process does

Regards

Did you try different 'spellings' of the user account in the remote access field and while prompted for the user.
I mean '.CN=xyz.O=abc...' or '.xyz.abc...' with or without leading dot or just 'abc' ?
Is the ping between the 3 machines ok. ? (short, long,ip)
and the aliases correct ?
