I am a newbie to Netware therefore pls excuse the level of the question. What is the system command to turn off the incessant aleter beeping? Time synchronisation from the secondary server, every 5 mins, results in an irritating beeping. I have scanned Novells website for the system command, but cannot find any reference.
Thanks very much.

The reason for the beep may suggest a problem. The server should keep time and only beeps if it looses time synchronisation then gets it back. I do not know how to disable this (unless you disable the onboard speaker in the BIOS or unplug it), however you may want to find out why the server beeps in the first place.

Thanks. It beeps because it does lose synchronisation, but also if teh secondary server cannot be contacted. I'm aware of the problem but still want to disable the beeping, as I am testing recoveries etc, therefore know the situation but need to disable the beeping...its annoying :)

I know there is a command which results in a list of options, which permits "server parameters" to be selected. I believe this is where the "system alerts" can be turned on or off.

The Command is MONITOR.
The problem has been resolved.
Thanks anyway TheLad, for your assistance.

For future reference, and for everyone else the command line is set sound bell for alerts = off
