got a compaq proliant box running NW5.1 and groupwise 6...installed a anti spam application called gwava...rebooted and now the server hangs at boot...nothing has loaded except the system console and product kernel screens...

question is...how can i edit my startup and autoexec files...want to back out whatever is trying to load...or is there an incremental boot routine...

You can edit the STARTUP.NCF from the DOS command prompt, it will be located in the C:\NWSERVER directory.

From the DOS prompt execute SERVER.EXE -NA, This will by pass the AUTOEXEC.NCF file. SYS will mount by defualt. You will be prompted to give the server a name and internal ID, then you will be able to EDIT AUTOEXEC.NCF to rem out the app you want to.
