We just installed Netware 6.5 fresh on a Compaq 1600 with almost 900 MG Ram 2 Gig drive. Just Sys volume. We also installed Webaccess and can't seem to get our web page to come up....I believe we have to load Apache2 for this as well, but it's not loading... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Marvin, this seems to be the exact problem that we are encountering. We are currently in the process of redoing the server again and will take your suggestions. Do you by any chance have a good copy of that Tomcat folder if needed or can I download from novell????

I also had another error message as well and was wondering if you could shed any light on this.... The error is TCCHECK waiting for LDAP Connection.

Personally, I've never had a problem with the tomcat folder. It's always been something else.

In fact, your error about 'waiting for LDAP connection' tells me that the LDAP is not configured correctly and that is probably what the hangup is. Tomcat won't load if LDAP isn't working. iManager won't load if Tomcat isn't running.

In certain situations where I have had this problem, it's very difficult to get past. You don't have to reinstall the server, but you do have to go through the install process and let it recreate the LDAP objects and configurations.

There is yet another post from a while back that I explain the process step by step.... go here..
A note to add about this process.. It doesn't reinstall your server as new.. but it does go through the process as if you were upgrading it. Don't worry, it's fine to do this. You won't lose any data. But you do have to answer questions about hardware, drivers, etc. much like when you instaled the server the first time.

Thanks Marvin

We are getting closer... We can get the defautl Welcome page for Netware 6.5, however, we can't get our webaccess page????

Any ideas??

I'm working with wonsie who left for the day. She is referring to the welcome to groupwise webaccess page which we finally got up and running.

We got the novell netware default page and now we can get the groupwise web access page but when we click on "Select English" it errors out. It looks like it's pointing to a link that includes an exe file that isn't there and I think not even a part of the netware version of Groupwise webaccess.

By the way, wonsie didn't mention (as far as I can see) that this version of webaccess is not typically supported on Netware 6.5 with Apache. We running version 5.5 of Groupwise webaccess.

I'm also not sure if LDAP was fixed and tomcat is running at this point.

I just verified that we aren't getting LDAP errors anymore. I believe there were problems with our certificates this morning and that was repaired. But tomcat still doesn't load.

It looks like it's going to and then it gets "bootstrap exited with status 1"

Thanks for all your help with this.

We fixed tomcat finally. But still having problems with the login page displaying correctly. I really think it's because we are trying to get a product that's too old working on an OS that's too new.

You might want to post the Groupwise problem on the Groupwise forum. I've installed GW5.5 onto NetWare 6.5, but I had to uninstall apache and put Netscape Enterprise server on. Even after that, it was no easy thing to do. Lots of problems along the way. Not sure what it would take to make it work on Apache. Is upgrading to GW6.5 an option? It's much nicer anyway.
