Anyone have a copy of a Novell NetWare 6.5 Intel pro/1000 PL Netware 6.5 driver for adding to the server install? The install app cannot "see" the NIC. And if I select the "Intel Pro/1000 PCI-E Q" in the supplied list, and specify the same Slot 3 and address 3FF2D3D50 that my previous NW 5.1 _successful_ installation on the same hardware platform lists as working, the 6.5 install fails to find it, and will proceed no further. I have even tried to choose the E1000E driver that Novell recommends from the NIC list but receive the same results. This is a test system that is being used in a training environment. I am using a Microsoft VPC virtual environment for flexibility. The NW 5.1 installed with no difficulty, recognizing the workstation's NIC without a problem.
Looking now on Novell's support site, I found that the driver does indeed exist, BUT it is contained in SP5 & up. Only SP7 is available now. I thought that it was included in the NW 6.5 SP7 CD .iso image that I downloaded this morning (roughly 2 1/2 hours starting at 3AM this morning!). I downloaded the "NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 7 OS CD" ISO file with the understanding that it already had SP7 applied, and not the "NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 7 Overlay" one because of the significant size difference - 585.6 MB vs. 1214.1 MB - I only have a HughesNet Satellite link, which is FAP (Fair (?) Access Policy) limited to about 185 MB per 24 hour period, except for 3 AM to 6 AM, and was not sure that I could download the entire 1.2 GB file within the 3 hour "free" window. What is the difference between the overlay version and the non-overlay version anyway?
So now I am really in a time critical bind, to be able to use this in my home training lab. I live way out in the "boonies" about an hour from any truly high-speed connections. So it would be extremely beneficial to me to be able to get a copy of this driver, rather than having to wait until 3 AM tomorrow morning to try to download the overlay version in the FAP-free window, in the hope that it will contain the correct driver. I have already lost about 6 hours trying to get it to work and am fast running out of time.
Someone please help if at all possible - any ideas or solutions would be a blessing.
