I'm new to Netware 5 and am setting up a server behind an IP only NAT enabled firewall. The idea is to have clients outside the firewall connect to the Netware 5 server using a VPN tunnel to get thru the firewall, IP and client32 to logon. However, although the VPN client is working ( I can ping the server from outside the firewall), the clients cannot find the tree or the server to log into.

FYI, I can POP My email from the server ! But client32 can't find it to log in. We can log in fine from behind the firewall...And I have loaded slpda.nlm. I just loaded it from the console and accepted the defaults.

Any ideas ?

can you ping the server by name or jsut IP?
If only IP you need a host file entry for the server so the workstation knows where to look.

Nikky,

You need to enable multicasting over the VPN tunnel that you
have setup, as Netware 5.0 clients will be default always try to connect via TCP/IP. Also, is the Netware 5.0 Server
as a DA (Directory Agent) for SLP??

Thats why you cannot see or browse the Tree/context and NW Servers on the LAN part.Any issues give me a email
