Backing up a single NW5.1sp2a server with BUExec 8.5 rev 4106. Backup locks up on a file (that's not in use) and server has to be hardbooted. BUExec gives no error message and job cannot be aborted. On reboot, one of 2 things happen:
1. Autoexec.ncf is overwritten with default settings (like a new install of a plain server)
or
2. Server loads, but ds.nlm does not load. This was found out when BUExec tried to log into the server and gives a -254 error. Veritas site indicates that ENABLE LOGIN needs to be typed at the console. After which everything seems normal.
Novell Site and Veritas give no information related to these problems. There are no errors other than above, on either the server or BU logs.
DSRepair is run and no errors are found. This has happened 2 times in the last 3 or so months. Backups run normally the rest of the time.
Anyone have any ideas?
