One of my servers is having a connectivity issue. All my users in one of my locations cannot login to the server. I went down to look at it and it seems that everything is running correctly. I had no errors in the abend.log, either. I did notice when I tried to login, that I was able to login, however, the server notified me that this was a "grace" login and to install more licenses. This is prompting me to look into more licenses, but my question is, can a lack of licensing cause me not to be able to ping my server too?

Is there any disconnect errors on the console? What SP are you running? -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"

There are no diconnect errors, however the console does say it cannot sync with the other servers in the tree. The SP is SP4

What protocols are you using? IP, IP & IPX, IPX on it's own?

If IP, can you ping ny other devices by either DNS name or IP address? If IPX, do a DISPLAY SERVERS and see if your server can see others.

Also, run a DSREPAIR -A and go into Advanced and run an External Reference Check. -----------------------------------------------------

I am running IP only and I can ping other hosts with their IP numbers or their DNS names.

What does an External Reference check show? How is your SLP configured? -----------------------------------------------------

Sorry for the long period of time without an answer. I did find out what the problem was after a little bit more time spent on troubleshooting. Turns out my firewall died causing my server to disconnect to my primary server and the groupwise server. The end users at this site were actually able to login and print, which told me that there wasn't a problem with the server after all. Now all I have to do is get a new firewall and configure it. Thanks TheLad for responding to my post, I appreciate it.
