All,

After reinstalling Netware 5.1 due to a bad HD I am having some Issues with users not being able to save data to certian or all folders. I have set all of the files and directories to Admin and certian users. From time to time I still get errors when creating new files. This problem is not consistent. Any suggestions? One thing I did find on the internet and is one of the errors I get:

"Without a valid owner, an application attempting to extend a file will receive a DOS error code, "Disk Full" The error 24 returned by Clipper...

Thanks

Brandon

Rememeber that Permissions inherit downward through the filesystem. In otherwords, set a permission up high, and the same permissions apply (transparently and automatically) below.

These are the permissions and what they mean:

R - Read Access
W - Write Access
E - Erase
F - File Scan (ie DIR command)
C - Create access
M - Modify attributes

Genereally when you grant full access, you give [rwcemf]. If you don't have C, you won't be able to create files and you could get a disk full error (depends largely on the application)
