hello,

i tried to run now my netware 4.2 sft3 server via TCPIP

i can ping all IP address (IO engine, MS engine) but with XP SP1 + netware client 4.9SP2 no TREE/Server could be found...
what is wrong/missing?

i configured the server (as found in novell doku) as follow:
IO1:
----
LOAD 3C90XC FRAME=ETHERNET_II NAME=LAN_IP
LOAD Tcpip RIP=Yes Forward=Yes Static=Yes
BIND IP LAN_IP PROXYARP=YES ADDR=192.100.5.48 Mask=255.255.254.0
BIND IP MSENGINE ADDR=192.100.5.34 Mask=255.255.255.252
IO2:
----
LOAD 3C90XC FRAME=ETHERNET_II NAME=LAN_IP
LOAD Tcpip RIP=Yes Forward=Yes Static=Yes
BIND IP LAN_IP PROXYARP=YES ADDR=192.100.5.49 Mask=255.255.254.0
BIND IP MSENGINE ADDR=192.100.5.34 Mask=255.255.255.252
MS-Engine:
----------
LOAD Tcpip RIP=Yes Forward=No
BIND IP MSENGINE ADDR=192.100.5.33 Mask=255.255.255.252

thanks,
martin.

You cannot connect to a NetWare 4.x server via TCP/IP even though you can configure TCP/IP on the server - TCP/IP is mainly used for printing on NetWare 4.x. You will have to continue to use IPX unless you plan on upgrading to a later version of NetWare,
