NetSnmp snmpset "Timeout: No response from <hostname>"

Hi there, I am getting an error when I am trying to change the value of sysContact.0 Here is the syntax that I use:

snmpset -v 2c sparc1 private sysContact.0 s me

sparc1 is the hostname of my box. me is the value that I want to place in sysContact.0

The place where i have NetSNMP installed is on the box where I want to change the value.

Please help.
