Is there a way to reconfigure netshield to copy the dat files it downloads from the ftp site locally ??

we have reloaded netshield(on win2k adv. srver)
and have it download the dats via McAfee ftp to local drive
so other servers/wrkstns can update from that local drive but it doesnt.

we have to do it manually.

thanks for any help

Hi

If you only wan't to use the DATS and no incrementals you can use the "save the update files for later usage" option. You'll find it under advanced options under the update properties.

If you need the incremental files for clients its better to download the files using FTP.

Hi

Try checking the update log to see if something is listed there. Perhaps you also could try changing the folder where you want the files saved, just to make sure that it's not a permission issue.

Otherwise I would use the FTP solution.

Where did you point the update site in the first place? If you used the NAI FTP site, it should work. If its a local share, this will not work (dunno why).

Also, you'll need a hotfix for NetShield to make sure UPDATE.INI is also downloaded during an update. AVChap
