We've had an LCII server running pretty much maintenance free since spring 1998. Suddenly, this week, it started to beep continuously. After warm reboots, the beeping would cease momentarily during the SCSI tests. This led me to suspect either a hot swap drive or NetRAID controller card error. Win2K Server would load and Domino (the only app) would run without fail. Suddenly, after about 24 hours, the system failed to boot altogether. I suspect we need a new NetRAID controller card. Anyone experience this type of failure? Are we forced to try to purchase another NetRAID controller card, or can I use one from another vendor? We have data on the hot swap drives that I need, otherwise we'd purchase a new server. HELP!!!

Hi

In most cases when the Netraid controller beeps it is due to an error that ist has come across.

I believe you have a netraid 1Si or Netraid 3Si controller. When you power up the server, you should look at the Bios information that is provided from the controller. This usually is a good start point for trouble shooting. On power up, the server will not beep until it start to load the bios of the controller.

if you can post the error that you recieve at this stage we can try and assist.
