Hi,

I have netscreen remote set up on my laptop. I have just installed an ADSL Router and I am now unable to connect to my office network through netsreen remote.

I can connect occasionally, but only for seconds before i get disconnected.

The router is a BT Voyager 205 ADSL Router.

If I use the old dialup I can still connect.

I have noticed that the router has a NAT installed on it which alters IP addresses on the way out.

I have tried disabling the nat but this affects the broadband connection.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Lambos,

the issue is not regarding NAT on your dsl router.
You need to ensure the following, you ADSL router permits UDP 500 out.

When you say you get connected but only for seconds.. are other people using the same credentials, are there other tunnel connections traversing your ADSL router, is there a NAT device in upstream of your firewall?

there is a lot that can affect your connection.
My advice to you would be to run a debug ike basic from the CLI and grab the output to see what is happening on your netscreen.

Easiest way from where you are depending on the tunnel type (split mode or block mode) would be to use SSH to you untrusted interface to grab this info whilst you are remote.

From this debug you ought to be able to see exactly why it is disconnecting you.

Kind regards
