netscape won't resolve hostname

We have just received and setup our new Sparc10 Solaris system running Solaris 8. I can't get netscape to resolve host names. If I put in a ip address it works just fine.
However I can ping, nslookup, ftp and telnet to hostnames w/o any problem. The nsswitch.conf file has the hosts: files dns entry. The resolv.conf has my domain name, local host and nameserver lookups. Any help would be appreciated.
