What up peoples, :-Q

Gots a question...

Running Solaris 8 and just upgraded from 4.70 to 4.76. I can execute the new version with /opt/NSCPcom/netscape & but can not with the button on CDE. Was wondering which file(s) I need to edit to reflect the path so that CDE can execute the new version. Premature thanks for the help.

CDE action ("Web Browser") button , is fired by "stdwebclient" dt file, sdtwebclient currently searches the user's path for netscape, and if that fails it tries to find hotjava. sdtwebclient should be changed to search for netscape in the user's path first, then try to find /opt/NSCPcom/netscape, and only if that fails fall back to hotjava. The simplest way to do this
might be for sdtwebclient to simply add /opt/NSCPcom to the end of the user's path variable, note there is also a netscape action that calls "sdtwebclient -b netscape"
The change to sdtwebclient must make sure that the netscape action "sdtwebclient -b netscape" also calls
/opt/NSCPcom/netscape.

Hope this help,

Carlos Almeida,

Appreciate the help. Thanks for all the good info. What I did (which was my work around) was this:

In /opt/NSCPcom lies the correct executable version of Netscape. I thought CDE pointed to /usr/dt/appconfig/netscape directory for netscape. So I changed to directory /opt/NSCPcom and issued command
cp –rp ./* /usr/dt/appconfig/netscape. All files transferred over except for the .netscape one. After doing this CDE executes correct version.

This might be the wrong way to go about it...Please tell me if it is. Thanks again!
