Having a problem with Netscape 4.7x and flash 5. I have an HTML page that uses javascript to create a new HTML window, and launches and passes variables to a flash movie. It works fine in IE, and NS 6, but fails in Netscape 4.78 with the flash player 5.0.41.
The movie is supposed to load some text files of variables, and some SWF files with graphic assets. Under 4.78, all it does is load the main movie. What is curious is that if I save the javascript-generated HTML as a file, and load it into 4.78, the movie runs fine.
The movie had been running fine with netscape 4.6, but now bombs with anything below 6.1. I believe macromedia released a new plug-in, and I'm wondering if that could be part of the problem. If anyone knows what's happening, or can test the movie with an earlier plug-in and let me know the result, I'd appreciate the help.
