I'm a web developer, but not too knowlegable about OS issues.
My employer is considering purchasing a Sun Cobalt Raq XTR server (Linux) with Apache web server.
For many years we have been using Netscape Enterprise Server for Novell on a Windows NT platform.
What are some of the conversion pitfalls I can expect when we migrate our website to the new server?
Does Linux require case matching for filenames and links? are long file names O.K.?
I know my perlscripts and ASP stuff will run, but will I be able to use Access databases for my back-end? Can I still use ColdFusion?
If anyone out there has made this type of conversion, please let me know!
