On my computer(Windows95 ver4.01) netscape 4.6 or 4.7(at different times)seems to crash every day at least once. I get a message saying Netscape caused an error at advert.dll. When you try and close this box it just re-appears, then you have to reboot the p.c!! I have tried the netscape help pages but there is not one page I can find about this .dll .

Just tonight while writing a html page, I changed a value in one of my tags and every time I load the page up, netscape crashes! Message: Netscape caused an error in Netscape.exe. When you close the error box, which shuts down netscape, another one appears, guess what? advert.dll again!! Reboot!!
Again!!

I have tried installing another version of netscape, so it must be something to do with my p.c I guess.

Has anyone had this problem because I am screwed until this gets sorted as I make webpages and need to test them on netscape.

Thanks VERY VERY much to anyone who can help in even the smallest way!!
Chris MacPherson
thedamager@hotmail.com
<a href= on the new Browza's!!
I think I have solved the second problem - I think! It might have been because I was trying to use css with tables because I have removed them and it now works fine, but if anyone knows anything about the Advert.dll problem then please get in touch.

Thanks
Chris MacPherson
thedamager@hotmail.com
<a href= on the new Browza's!!
I receive error messages that Application exception occurred:
App: netsc_us.exe (pid=484)
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

Can some please let me know what causes this and how to resolve this.

we were getting the same error. Found that the variable that i was passing to a javascript function was declared again inside the function. when we removed the declaration the page worked.
I hope this helps.
