Netscape browser post

I am using $PHP_SELF or $SCRIPT_NAME as an action on a form. Sometimes Netscape 6.01 hangs pointing to an external xml file called redirect_loop.xul. I have to restart the browser then. Any ideas? Anyone know xml and can look at this file?
