Netscape background changes

I have created a page with two SWF files in it. It is my first Flash project. It works pretty much as desired in IE. However, in Netscape (4.77), somehow the browser's white background is overridden and shows black. Prior to inserting the SWF files, the page was consistent in both NS and IE. I don't know why it does this and I don't know how to fix it, since the <body> tag explicitly sets bgcolor to #FFFFFF.

Woe is me.

What about your <object> & <embed> tags? Using scaling & bgcolor in those? Scaled or fixed width & height? Using tables? In other words... Post a link if you can! Or post your html!

Yo!
Sorry, but you quickly loose me in your Css... stuff!
All I can say, is that, if you remove all of that stuff, and basicly just embed the swfs, it works fine in NS also!
So my guess is that your style sheets or whatever, are f... things up!
Best I can do! Once again sorry!

Thanks for taking a look.

There's a CSS, but it is a simple one. The complexity comes from all the code generated by Adobe GoLive! I USUALLY makes things easier, but when it doesn't do so, it's a real pain figuring out what is wrong.

I think I'll just re-create the file and see if it goes any better.

An update.

Your comment about CSS lead me to some experimentation. There are imbedded styles in the page AND an external style sheet. In addition, the <body> tag specifies #FFFFFF.

I put the bgcolor spec in the external style sheet and now it stays white in Netscape.

So on to the next problem. Perhaps you have some insight about it. One of the Flash files has a stop action in it to reveal the HTML navigation component for the page. When it stops, there is a flash of white (in Netscape only) that is very distracting. Is this avoidable?

Once again, can't really say something about that, except that those flashes also occur on the first rollovers (and sometimes after fast moves over them...) of each individual menu item... Pointing once again to a problem outside of Flash!
Really makes you love NS... Doesn't it!
