I have installed Netscape 6.1 on two machines thus far, both of which are running RedHat 7.1 (without any patches or updates). In both cases, Netscape will hang the X-windows session after a short time, necessitating a ctrl-alt-backspace to close KDE (my default environment, also unpatched).
Is there anyplace I can get some troubleshooting help for this issue? Netscape seems to say very little. I have to assume there is some kind of help forum out here somewhere...
Perhaps I am wasting my time, but web browsing in Linux is not nearly as pleasant as it is in Windows, and this browser seems to close the gap considerably. I would really like to make it work, especially the email client. I use multiple email addresses, and my server supports IMAP. This part has been fantastic, though it hangs when the browser does.
Restarting X is embarrassing... I'm trying to migrate to Linux in my office, and I would like to offer it as an option for my clients. This is one area that doesn't compare - but seemingly should.
TIA,
Steve
