Since "search" is currently not available, will risk starting this new thread.

I've been running various versions of Netscape for years with few problems. Recently, however, far too many sessions are ended by Netscape performng an illegal action - various locations: kernel32.dll (have installed Microsoft's latest of this); netscape.exe, talkback.exe, user.exe, and several others.
One computer is running Windows 95B; I was running Netscape 4.77 for a year or more with no problems; then numerous crashes; I reinstalled; no cure; installed 4.79. No cure. Problem getting worse.
The other computer has Win98se and has Netscape 4.79. Ran successfully for 6 months or more; now numerous crashes.

I've also started having troubles with sending e-mail -- Netscape will crash during or imediately after a Send. Sometimes the message goes, sometimes not.

Quick help will be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to do some time-sensitive work on the net and IE won't accept a changed password so it's not an option. (Netscape's help site has a loopso no help there).

Might not be totally Netscape's problem.
Have you run System File Checker to see if anything's out of whack/in need of repair?
(Start--Run--SFC--OK)

Also, tell me you're not running Kazaa...
...you also should (if you're not already) sweep your machine for scum-ware...preferably with Ad-Aware

Thanks, however, SFC is not on 95 and in 98, there were so many files that had been changed (some newer, some older, some the same) that it was virtually worthless.

I've had a hunch that the problem was not due to Netscape, but how to resolve it is the issue, since the probable culprit provides no tech support. I'd hoped for more info from this forum.

I don't have Kazaa. And I've never seen Ad-Aware. where is it available?
Thanks.
