i'm trying to change the hostname of a netra remotely and it's being a pain. using the hostname command is fine but then on a reboot i guess the eeprom thing resets the value.
anyway to do this without a serial console?

Edit the file /etc/hostname.interface whre interface is the name of the network interface (hme0, qfe0, or other)
to reflect the new name. Also edit /etc/hosts to change the name.
It should do the job Too bad I.T. is not cash business

To change hostname you should edit those three files:

/etc/hosts
/etc/hostame.interface
/etc/nodename

Regards,

Vlad

thanks guys!
i was not changing /etc/nodename and i was expecting the hostname command to write to the necessary files.
