Does anyone else have NetMon built into their Windows XP Pro? I just found it, and it seems to work as good (if not better!) than Ethereal/Wireshark! Am I just an idiot, or is this a well-known thing in the Windows world? It is located in C:\Program Files\NetMon2, or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools\Network Analysis Tools (from Control Panel).

Nope, I don't have it. Not on my W2K3 R2 SP2 either.

Wonder if CiscoWorks or something installed it...

Burt,

Just checked my XP Pro machine at work and we install EVERYTHING - I have Network Load Balancing Tools - no Network Analysis Tools !!!

Did a quick "Google" - did you install anything from Solar Winds? They have a tool called - Network Analysis Tools!

Netmon originally came with W2K, but it wasn't installed by default.

MS now have netmon 3.1 for XP and W2K3 that's downloadeable from their site.
