Hello,

I am trying use netmeeting to administer a Win 2K server. Netmeeting is installed on both the server and the 2K professional box that I am tryng to access it from. I can connect from the server to the remote box via Remote Deaktop but I cannot access the server from the remote box. I need to be able to administer this server from different boxes throughout the organization. It gives me an error that says that the user cannot accept netmeeting calls. The machines that I would be using to connect to the server have different versions of NT on them, but they do have NetMeeting.

Does anyone know how to fix this bug?

Thanks

I am not familiar with NetMeeting for remote admin, but I use VNC or TridiaVNC for that purpose (same program, different packaging), both are free to download. It is not as bulky because it is not intended for communication, only for remote admin. You also have the option to use Terminal Sevices with Windows 2000 Server. Install the Terminal Services (TS) in admin mode and you will be able to bring up the server from any windows machine after you have installed the TS client. I use this to access all of our servers from home. I allow RDP packets to those boxes through our firewall, and then use VNC from the TS window to admin any of our other computers (Mac, Linux, Win9x). Works very well for me. Daniel Shackelford

Hi, try this
after installing netmeeting make sure that you have enabled remote sharing in the tools optio, highlight the icon in the tray with the right button of mouse and enable remote desktop sharing, this will work for all pcs and servers running netmeeting. Note that it you must enable in the tools/options/security the incoming and outgoing boxes for it to work properly, also disable sound and video to save on the bandwidth.
We are happily using this method in our WAN of approx 700 pcs, and in dial-up sessions without problems.

Are you using proxy server 2.0 ? Curious I have the same limitation...basically Microsoft recommends disabling one of their products to use another....something to do with H 232.
