I have a Netgear 54Mbps USB Wireless Adapter WG121. I downloaded and installed the latest software available from Netgear(WG121V200). which installs Netgear adapter driver firmware version 2.04.03.04 and XP driver version 1.00.05.1000. I have selected to use only Windows XP to configure and manage my wireless network settings. The adapter sometimes connects to the Netgear 54Mbps Access Point WG602 at 54Mbps but drops the connection on a regular basis (The AP is in the same room as the WG121). Sometimes I can get to the Internet other times not. The XP system is running at 100% CPU time because Netgear's wlancfg8.exe taking up from 50% to 65% of the CPU time constantly. Anybody else having problems with the Netgear WG121 and Windows XP SP-1? I have installed XP Hotfix KB826942.
