I have a Netfinity 5600 Model 8664 PIII 600.

After installing Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, it recognized everything except for 2 unknown devices.

I got one of my answers by installing the Active PCI driver as mentioned in this thread

The other unknown device, I used Window's system information to view problem devices. The device has a PNP Device ID : ACPI\IBM37C0\4&F0BF899&0

The only thing I can find on IBM's website is a Advanced Systems Management Processor. I installed that. Now that unknown device is showing up as IBM (Version 5.4) Netfinity Advanced System Management Processor but it would not start with a Code 10 error.

Any help as to what this ACPI decvice is and where I can find the appropriate driver?

BobtheTomato,

Excellent advice, I have the same problem on a IBM 7100 model server running W2k Sp3. Fixed my problem.

As for "ACPI\IBM37C0\4&F0BF899&0" this is what I suggest.

Download the following the .iso files and burn the cds.

IBM UpdateXpress version 3.10A

IBM ServRaid Support CD Version 6.10

First run the servrad cd in windows which will update your raid controller drivers if you have any, if not then no harm. May require a reboot at which time you should boot off the cdrom to update your BIOS and firmware to the latest ver of 6.10.24.

After completion, boot windows again. Then insert the UpdateXpress cd and kill the program when it launches. Then, from device manager, find your problem devices and update drivers obviously pointing them to the cdrom. Also, may require a reboot which at that time you should boot that UpdateXpress cdrom and let it do its thing. NOTE: dont answer any questions (like Apply Update) from the cdrom as it is quite tricky and likes to wait the alotted time built in to the program. It will do it all automatically. Hope that helps. Learned alot on this one.........Stiddy

Additional info...The ASMP device driver may have a dependency on the ASMP being at the current firmware level. You should update the system BIOS, and ASMP firmware, the enter CMOS, load default settings, save&exit, then boot to the OS. if the driver still fails to start, confirm you installed the correct driver via the correct means - you should not select the unknown device and point to the driver diskette to install the driver. You should run SETUP.EXE from the diskette. If you did the former, run SETUP.EXE. You most likely do not have a complete installation.
