netfinity 3000 ibm

hello,I bought an ibm netfinity off ebay and well pleased with it,however I want to upgrade the memory,this ecc buisness,can I use compaq sdram ecc stuff in it,or does it have to be ibm ecc stuff?thanks doods and I hope all goes well in the new year
 
As long as it's 100MHz SDRAM ECC DIMMs, it should work. You should know that IBM goes to RDIMMs (Registered memory) for the Netfinity 3000 when using 256MB DIMMs. Also, depending on the specific model, you may be limited in the maximum RAM supported. Check IBM's site for details:
