I have written a script that essentially creates a machine name and then uses NETDOM.exe to create a machine account and then join the machine to the domain. The script runs using the RunOnce setting in the registry after the Windows Security Dialog has been compromised (I wrote another script to do that, too). When the script does the add/join via NETDOM, it will create the account but will say that there is a duplicate name on the network.
I had been testing with machine names that can be floating around on the network through mapped drives, other domains, etc. Howeer, the most recent tests have been done using values that I know have never existsd anywhere.
Thanks for any help given.
