netdiag won't complete

I am running netdiag /v /d:domain and it runs a few local tests but stops after the 14th line where it says testing DNS. It just sets there for a few minutes then goes back to the command prompt. What is going on? I am running this from two dirrent DCs and both are doing the same thing.

you dont need the /d switch

you may potentially have the dhcp client or dns client service stopped...possibly even dns server service...

dhcp client is reponsible for most dynamic updateing regarding uplevel windows systems...including dns (netlogon takes care of srv records though)

make sure your dns config is right too:
